FLAR - FiLe? system ARchive - is yet another file archival method
FLAR itself is stored on another file system, in other words, in a simple directory tree, so what the heck?
A FLAR poses only minimal requirements on the hosting file system, but can (re)store very complicated or sofisticated file system approaches.
FLAR implements an archival file system with snapshots.
Concepts
The objects of a file system have path a content and a type. The path consists of tokens separated by a path separator.
Primary types are files and directories.
